A booster is used when one pump is not enough
A Roots booster can improve pumping speed in the pressure range where the backing pump alone becomes less effective. It is usually combined with a liquid ring or screw backing pump.
Common applications
Roots booster systems are used in vacuum drying, chemical recovery, large chamber evacuation, metallurgy, pharmaceutical processes and duties that require higher throughput at lower pressure.
System selection matters
The booster, backing pump, bypass, cooling, condenser, separator and control logic should be selected together. A complete system curve is more useful than a single pump model name.
